The legendary Earth Wind and Fire brought the house down at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont IL, as crowds went wild during the July 12, 2024 performance, in which Earth Wind and Fire joined forces once again with the band Chicago for their 2024 national Heart & Soul Tour. A diverse crowd of fans packed the Arena to re-experience memories as they listened to the soulful sounds from a rich era in American music.

The Chicago Blues Festival held its annual event from Friday June 7th to Sunday June 9th, 2024 at Millennium Park. Chicago jazz singer Dee Alexander made an appearance. Chicago Blues Legend Buddy Guy appeared as part of his “Damn Right Farewell” tour.
Blues musicians often started out as street musicians and performers at house parties until eventually they made their way to Blues clubs. The Chicago Blues Festival is the largest FREE Blues fesrtival in teh world. The 2024 festivalfeatured four days of top tier talent. throughout the weekend, three stages were set up across Millenium Park to welcome more than 35 performances and more thatn 250 artists celebrating Chicago's renowned blues legacy.
Headliners include award winning singer Shemikia Copeland, "The Mississippi Blues Child," Mr. Sipp, Grammy nominared Memphis based Soul and Root band Southern Avenue and Centennial Tributes to Jimmy Rogers, Dinah Washington and Otis Spann. The Chicago Gospel Festival was held on Saturday June 1st, 2024 at Millennium Park. Three time Grammy winning, highest-selling female gospel group in history, the Clark Sisters performed. Kicking off Millenium Park's 20th Anniversary Season, this inspirational music festival, free to the public, brought audiences of all ages together. It was hosted by iHeart Media Chicago's Inspiration 1390s Sonya Blakey, DeAndre Patterson and VaShawn Mitchell.

Lollapalooza returns to Grant Park in downtown Chicago on August 1-4, 2024. Lollapalooza is an annual American four-day music festiva held in Grant Park in Chicago. It orignally started as an event in 1991 and many years later, Chicgo became its permanent location. Music genres include alternative rock, heavy metal, punk rock, hip hop and electronic dance music.
The festival hosts an estimated 400,000 people each July and sells out annually. Lollapalooza is one of the largest music festivals in the world andone of the longest running in the United States. Look out for traffic re-routing and street closures near Grant Park in downtown Chicago.

The 31st Annual African/Caribbean International Festival of Life and 42nd Annual Chicago Music Awards held over the Independence Day Weekend in Washington Park from Wednesday July 4 through Sunday July 7. 2024, was a combined celebration of vibrant cultures, music and community, bringing people of different cultures together to enjoy food, fashion, art and music from Africa and the Caribbean.
Honoring Chicago's musical diversity, this year's festival highlighted 30-plus years of cultural and educational programming, celebrating black culture and recognizing Chicago's musical heritage and legacy.
Performers included The Stylistics Featuring Van Fields, Blue Magic, Slave, Rose Royce, Gene Hurt, Connie Wilson, Lil June, and Big Bang. Audiences were treated to a combination of R&B classics from the 70s, Reggae and Dancehall's hottest superstar, Teejay "Drift."
NBC 5 Chicago and Telemundo were the pround TV sponsors of the 31st Annual African/Caribbean International Festival of Life. The 42nd Chicago Music Awards (CMA) attracted more than 150 Chicago land music industry members named as nominees and special honorees in the more than 40 categories and more than 20 music genres.

Arthur Sutton and the Gift of Praise have have a message for the world, and are ready to take it o the global community, through the Arthur Sutton & Gift of Praise Scholarship Foundation.
They are making plans to go to Kenya, East Africa and are looking for people who are interested in making the journey also.
Arthur Sutton and the Gift of Praise Scholarship Foundation was established to foster Educational and Vocational training. On Sunday, July 28, the 7th Annual Gift of Praise Scholarship Foundation, under the stewardship of its Founder and Coordinator Arthur D. Sutton, bestowed 17 scholarships to local students who are aspiring to higher education.
In a spirited ceremony held at Acme M.B. Church at 8747 S. Pauina Street in Chicago, the recipients were presented with their Scholarship Awards. They met the criteria of having a 2.0 or above GPA, being an active member of a church, being drug and alcohol free and submitting a 100-word essay on why education is important.

International vocalist Maurice Mahon gave his best to a multi-generational crowd at Society 57 in Aurora, Illinois on Saturday, May 25, 2024, moving the audience to rock in their seats as they sang along and clapped to their favorite songs.
The performance was a fundraiser for the ECHO Development Center. ECHO, which stands for Empowerment Community Hope Organization, offers different monthly events for individuals from every walk of life - youth, young adults, and senior citizens.
Maurice Mahon, CEO and Founder of New Face of Soul, rose to fame from Chicago's West Side, winning the first "Chicago Idol" music contest, and quickly attracting the interest of some of Chicago's most influential members of the music industry.
He opened for acts such a The Emotions, The Delphonics and Ray, Goodman and Brown. Distinguished by a smooth, sleek style, he has worked with artists such as R. Kelley, John P. Kee, Kim Burrell, Christopher Williams and Kelly Price.
He is also known for outstanding acting skills, which netted him numerous roles in stage plays, even performing with Tyler Perry. His hit tune "I Am Somebody," inspired by Rev. Jesse L. Jackson. Sr.'s famous slogan, "I am Somebody" is known as a Civil Rights theme song. Maurice Mahon is often requested to sing the song at political rallies.

CHICAGO – Mayor Brandon Johnson and the City of Chicago and Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) proudly present the 2024 Chicago Air & Water Show, August 10 and 11 along the lakefront from Fullerton to Oak Street, with North Avenue Beach serving as show center from 10:30am to 3pm daily. Established in 1959, the Chicago Air & Water Show is the largest free admission event of its kind. Headliners of the 2024 show include the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and the U.S. Army Parachute Team Golden Knights.

A special screening of the film "Vigilantes, Inc. America's New Vote Suppression Hitmen" was held Saturday September 7, 10:00am at the Rainbow PUSH Headquarters, 930 E. 50th Street in Chicago. This documentary explores the tactics used to suppress the vote and the efforts being made to combat these injustices.
This film, directed by Greg Palast and David Ambrose and narrated by Rosario Dawson, shines a light on the critical issue of voter suppression in America.
Voting laws have changed dramatically since 2020. States have made the rules that govern the elecrtions either tighter or looser, dependng on what party has been in charge. This could effect the outcome in the swing states.
